In recent months, photographs have appeared on social media showing giant, colorful works on the streets of Marrakech, but now, in the midst of the digital age, nothing is as it seems. What we see is in fact the work of designer Alex Proba, who creates sculpture-works using artificial intelligence. The results are jaw-dropping. Pastel-colored works with natural shapes invade the charming streets of the Moroccan city, making observers hope that they are real. The series is called “Dream Market” and takes inspiration from organic shapes: from fruits to vegetables, plants to flowers, ice cream to clouds. A veritable dream market crowds the city with its surreal and disproportionately sized products. Images show a purple cabbage occupying the corner of a street, huge candy sculptures blocking an entire street, and an array of vegetables leaning against a building.
Designer Alex Proba, who has always been involved in public works such as murals on city walls, swimming pool backdrops, and tiles, expands her creativity by making use of AI, which allows her to bring those seemingly unfeasible projects to life. Her works explore emotions, celebration of color and positive stimulation of the senses, drawing on and taking inspiration from the everyday.
