That’s how Carrelli Sciolti, the Instagram profile we present to you this week, describes itself, a fascinating archive of photographs that tell of abandonment and freedom.

There is always something intriguing about abandoned things, about objects used by everyone and left in the wrong places. Spotting them by chance in unknown places is also a bit strange, it shows us that someone else has been there. Someone with a unique story, with a need and an urgency.

Thinking about the old owner of an abandoned trolley is also rather sad. That’s why we like to think that the trolleys have chosen their condition, broken free from their chains and travelled as far away as possible. Choosing a life devoted to freedom is after all a difficult decision, but it allows you to live without masters, without rules, without constraints and without the anguish of a fixed abode.

This is precisely why we love Carrelli Sciolti, because since October 2020, as well as showing us the incivility of people, it also reminds us that we don’t have to follow the rules, but that we can let go of our impulses without fear.
