@Fontanesi born in 2012, when there were only Chiara Ferragni’s first selfies on Instagram. We’re dealing with a profile which nowadays has +50K followers, homonymous related to the 19th-century romantic painter. Fontanesi realizes a new interpretation of reality with the simple use of the Instagram Layout App: a disruptive vision, sometimes disturbing, that is able to create a parallelism between what we usually don’t believe it can be related to.
The subjects of these collages are anonymous, as well as the identity behind the page. We don’t know if we’re talking about a collective or just a person, but whoever is the admin, he’s been able to make this new conception of photography becoming viral. People, streets, animals, every kind of object without a particular peculiarity became the subjects of what could be considered as Poor Art.

“Fontanesi it’s a place in fontanesi where you can meet fontanesi and take pics of fontanesi. There you can get a walk and then have a fontanesi, drive a fontanesi or enter in a fontanesi.” This is the manifest on the website. Fontanesi is a place, a person, a style and nothing at the same time: maybe this is reality. The publishing house Skinnerboox gaves this project its tangibility by dedicating it a volume of 420 pages and a reserved place in the Great Selection.
Authentic but without eccentricity, this profile encourages us to observe what surrounds us with a more critical and interrogative eye, besides making us smile for the absurd juxtapositions.
Whether or not his intent, @fontanesi is creative motivation, an intriguing inspiration that characterizes our feed having fun one distortion at a time.
