If there is one question that is impossible to truly answer, it is “how are you?”.
“Good,” “same as usual,” “like this,” “bad,” “let’s leave it at that.” Every answer to this question is a non-answer, it would be too long, difficult or complicated to explain how we really are. So we take refuge in catchphrases, in short words that fill the immense void that would otherwise follow the question mark.
The Instagram profile How are you? (@howareyou_questionmark), run by Swiss illustrator Ueli Johner, tries to give creative answers through small vignettes that are sometimes funny, sometimes more melancholic and sad.
