On the occasion of “ANTES, DESPUES, AHORA“, the last solo exhibition of the Spanish street artist Sixe Paredes at the Centro Cultural de España en Lima, the artist has had the opportunity to make two new graffiti named “Abstraccion numerical “and “Quipu Abstraccion”.
In the first work, the author reflects on the importance of numbers, on its meaning in our lives and how they have become symbols of crisis.
His reflection begins on the concept of media bombardment and focuses on how the excess of information is making us lose our essence, making us a number and a part of the market devoted to consumerism.
In the visual choice it seems to look at the Andean tradition, where math was the means of connection between man and cosmos.
The second operation aims to resemble a sort of proto-writing, a form of antique language made, in the case of Sixe Paredes, of three-dimensional elements such as lines, symbols and numbers in different colors.
Two very different graffiti but that fully represents the work of this street artist.
