“The Face” the ANTI-DO-TO blanket that does charity

If you are from Milan you could see the first snow of this winter. In fact, just yesterday the city was the subject of a beautiful snowfall.
As we know, snow, as well as the real cold, also involve a whole series of inconveniences and difficulties with which we all have to deal.
There is a category of people who, however, struggle to come to terms with the cold and the snow, and they are the homeless.

In Milan, between 11,354 and 14,876 homeless people have been estimated (Eupolis data, 2011). Most of them are men (87%), mainly foreigners and the rest women, about 1,900. These are figures that have certainly worsened after the pandemic, but there is no need to have updated data, just have a look at the streets.
That’s exactly why the ANTI-DO-TO activist streetwear brand came up with an initiative aimed at providing some warmth to the city’s homeless.

nvolving its community in favor of a project with a strong social impact, ANTI-DO-TO has put on sale a limited edition Made in Italy blanket, “The Face”, in two colors, black and white and made of regenerated cotton. The blanket takes its name from the graphic that distinguishes it, a smiling face, a wish of positivity for everyone.

Starting from today December 9 and until January 31, thanks to the collaboration with Fondazione Isacchi Samaja Onlus, for every blanket purchased the brand will donate another one made with warmer materials to the invisible of Porta Venezia, a district of Milan where both ANTI-DO-TO and the Foundation are based and an affluent area of the city with a high number of homeless.

The Isacchi Samaja Onlus Foundation, based in Porta Venezia just like ANTI-DO-TO, assists around 100 homeless people every day in the eastern Milan area alone with the help of local associations and its own street units. Four evenings a week, cultural mediators bring physical and emotional comfort to people living on the street, offering them basic necessities, drinks, food, clothing and blankets; as well as a possible roof over their heads, accompaniment to local services and a lot of affection.

With this ANTI-DO-TO initiative, the brand invites us to refine our gaze and focus on our community, not around the world but just outside our front door, where – without rhetoric but with small, concrete gestures – we can all spread a little warmth and positivity.

HERE you can purchase “The Face” blanket and then donate one to the homeless in Porta Venezia.
