Artez, street art between photorealism and illustration

Artez is a Serbian artist with a style that is halfway between photorealism and illustration. His main source of inspiration is the reality that surrounds him: starting from a photograph, the artist begins to create a drawing that in the end is completely detached from the image chosen at the beginning.

After graduating from the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade in 2013, Artez began his career in the street scene and started from the choice of the name:

“At the beginning I started to tag myself with ART, but the name didn’t sound too good, there were too many people using the same combination of letters. After some time, I decided to add Z at the end, probably under the influence of my friend Bantu, the one who introduced me to graffiti and, at that time, wrote “Skillz”. I don’t know the other meanings very well, but I hope that my work will add a new meaning to the moniker I use”.

Artez has been influenced by many different artists over the years and his style has continued to change constantly over time until we get to what we know.
