A project as always innovative, important, that we are sure will make you fall in love at first sight. It’s called Ashar Tented Resort, a luxury resort consisting of 47 suites designed by the French architecture studio AW2 .
The 47 luxurious rooms will be located in the AlUla desert in Saudi Arabia. A project that is clearly inspired by the typical Bedouin tents and nomads that once occupied the area.
The site consists of three main elements: sand, rocks and sky.
Three elements that are fundamental in the formation and implementation of the project, the sand is the platform on which the Parisian studio will lay the foundations, the rocks will be an active part becoming inhabited spaces, the tented roofs are the sky where guests will feel pampered and safe.

In addition to the suites, there will also be two other buildings in the Ashar Tented Resort. A restaurant with international cuisine and a spa, made of compressed earth bricks.
The spa will include a swimming pool inside the surrounding rock formations. A real dream place to relax, perhaps with a good glass of wine in hand.
“A rock pool suspended between two rocky cliffs offers guests a unique sensory experience that brings together two natural elements, water and earth, giving a spectacular setting in the heart of the desert”.

A resort that also keeps an eye on the environment, a fundamental point for architects. In addition to being low energy impact, the design inspired by Bedouin curtains is not designed to contrast with the surrounding environment but rather to adapt.
The resort, scheduled to open in 2021, is part of a broader strategy to encourage international tourism in Saudi Arabia.
A few weeks ago we spoke to you (here) about another resort, a pearl in the heart of the desert designed by Jean Nouvel.
Here are all the renderings of the spectacular project by the French architecture firm AW2 .
