Blackberry Bloom the photo series by Julia Peirone

Julia Peirone wants to raise questions about the idea of aesthetics by creating a photographic series called Blackberry Bloom.

Julia Peirone was born in 1973 in Stockholm where she lives and works. One of her latest series is called “Blackberry Bloom”. The shots represent a naked female body that intertwines with itself, building a sort of confusion that we can not really distinguish. The shots on a black background, dominated by a girl with raven hair, pale skin, and blood red lips, seem to be a cross between a Greek statue and Snow White.

The photographer’s intention is to raise questions about the idea of beauty. The woman depicted interacts with the artist while Julia Peirone imagined she had fallen into the water while interpreting her own reflection (like Narcissus).
