Madeline Martinez is an illustrator from Portland, Oregon, who depicts simple moments of calm and relaxation.
Before embarking on her career as a freelance illustrator, Madeline Martinez began studying photography at Eastern Mennonite University and it was only during her studies that she decided to open herself up to the world of graphic design by enrolling in a Digital Media course. It didn’t take long for her to realise that this was her path and since then she has never stopped for a day, first seeking out different internships to gain as much experience as possible and then committing to drawing every day, finding inspiration in everything.

Thanks to her practice, Madeline Martinez’s work today is characterised by a personal style that allows her to express herself fully.
Her production is studded with female figures represented either in close-up portraits or in intimate and private contexts while enjoying moments of calm and relaxation. Thus we see young girls sipping a cup of coffee, reading a book lying on their bed or contemplating nature.

Madeline Martinez’s signature is the colour palette she chooses for almost all her illustrations: a range of earthy tones, from light to intense, but with a touch of green that recalls the natural element.
Finally, the artist always opts for flat backgrounds with no play of light and shadow, making the final result simple and minimalist.
We have selected just a few of her works, but to find out more visit her website and follow Madeline Martinez on Instagram.
