This past weekend the internet broke, and what caused this break was the unveiling of the new collaboration between Calvin Klein and Palace, called CK 1 Palace.
The hints started last Friday and were scattered on both brands’ Instagram accounts, but it was between yesterday and today that Calvin Klein and Palace released a short film that in a way, tells about this joint venture.
First, the logo blending Palace’s Tri-Ferg with CK Calvin Klein’s was revealed then, after a couple of teasers, yesterday Palace uploaded on its YouTube channel a short film just over 5 minutes long – of which 3 excerpts were posted on both brands’ Instagram accounts.

The short film – which you can see at the end of this article – tells the story of Palace’s journey from London to New York, talks about love and lack, the desire to express your feelings because you simply feel them and, at the same time, is funny and irreverent, perfectly mixing both the philosophies of the brands and their aesthetics.
The 90s as a common trace: the references to Calvin Klein’s black and white commercials mixed with the classic VHS aesthetic of skate videos in a sort of manifesto and communion of intent.
Embellishing the campaign video is the participation of Willem Dafoe. The actor, already the face of Prada for example, plays both a taxi driver and a pizza maker, and then appears together with the guys from Palace for what is a classic pose of Calvin Klein commercials. Also of note is the cameo by British actress Joan Collins.
The CK 1 Palace collection, which features underwear, denim items, tees and the CK 1 Palace fragrance – a reimagining of the iconic CK One – will be released Friday so keep an eye out.
