A time journey through Chrononaut’s shots

How many questions have we asked about time? What would it be like if it went faster, slower, if it didn’t exist or if it existed differently? Traveling through it has always been one of man’s desires, perhaps to relive some moments of his life, to reach the past. Chrononaut, a photographic duo composed by Mia and Fabian, investigates the moments that composed it.

The two spent their childhood together in Spain, then they meet again years later and start working in collaboration. They both moved to Serbia, in Belgrade, and there they focus on their passion: they capture present and past moments. As the name Chrononaut indicates, their photographs travel through time. They imprison the moments through relaxing atmospheres in which everything, the model in the first place, is in tune with the surrounding environment. Instilling a deep calm, the viewer is guided in a kind of meditation, conveyed in turn by soft lights and soft tones. The result is an album of memory, evocative, at times fairy.

As a duo, their shots are the result of a deep friendship that inevitably leads to artistic and relational understanding. This harmony is felt in every photograph, made up of both Mia’s empathy and Fabian’s visualization ideas. It is clear that, when collaborations reach these levels, mutual influence brings added value, a representation that would otherwise have been incomplete.
