Australian artist Cj Hendry is making headlines again with a new exhibition titled Keff Joons. Inspired by Jeff Koons’ famous balloon-shaped sculptures, this show playfully and irreverently reinterprets the now-iconic imagery of contemporary art. The exhibition will be open to the public until April 20, 2025, in a gallery space in Dumbo, Brooklyn, which has been transformed for the occasion into a whimsical, surreal universe. Fifty large-scale interactive sculptures will fill the space, inviting visitors to move, touch, play, and observe how movement and materials can alter the perception of both interior and exterior space.

Hendry’s aim isn’t to imitate, but rather to deconstruct. In Keff Joons, the balloons become chaotic, voluminous, shapeless knots. Familiar objects, transformed into monumental sculptures, challenge the viewer to reconsider space, lightness, and the fragility of emotions evoked by something so simple and fleeting.

Keff Joons is my ironic take on that balance between lightness and impermanence, seen through the lens of Jeff Koons’ art. But let’s leave the serious art to the professionals!» Hendry said with her trademark playful tone.

There will also be collectible items, with limited editions and exclusive merchandise including t-shirts, caps, balloon sets, pins, magnets, coloring books, and silk scarves. All the original artworks have already sold out — a clear sign of the excitement and anticipation that every new Hendry project generates among collectors, with more than three thousand currently on the waiting list.
