There are cities whose walls become unintentional bulletin boards for messages of love, criticism and any other intention easily expressed with a marker pen, found in a pocket by chance or brought from home to leave one’s mark. Bologna, accomplice to the vibrant life and creative spirit of its inhabitants, is one of these cities, with the porticoes and alleys of the center becoming the best setting also for the works of Claudiano.jpeg, street artist and photographer, but also illustrator and musician.

Claudiano.jpeg calls his art a “street art in miniature,” with a style that takes street art into meme territory, combining collage-modified subjects with sarcastic lettering using puns and a humorous cynicism typical of social language.
The concept of the artist’s works could be summed up with the title of his first solo exhibition, which was staged in late January and early February 2023. The title “It is not beautiful what is beautiful but it is beautiful what is Instagram friendly” reflects the sense of joy and lightness that is the background of a simple art project, which focuses on the immediacy of messages.
Claudiano.jpeg – who also expands his art to other cities – pastes on the walls human characters with mouse or pug heads, but also with well-known TV and political personalities, the same ones he also brings on canvas or digitally, a natural extension of those arcades in which you might find written a truth you had never thought of.
