Climate clock, the countdown of the world

During Climate Week, a team of artists, activists and scientists turned the famous New York Metronome clock into a countdown.

The large clock on the wall of a skyscraper in Union Square that usually counts the hour, minutes, seconds and from midnight, hour, will indicate another type of time: the years, days, hours, minutes and seconds the world has available to limit carbon dioxide emissions before it reaches a point of no return.

The work also carries a message, ‘The Earth Has a Deadline‘ and has been renamed ‘Climate Clock‘ for the occasion.
Officially the deadline is set between 7 years and 100 days, the goal is to achieve zero emissions, for a better future.

An important awareness that we all should not underestimate, time is running out and we still have little left to save the earth.
On the site you can stay updated on both the deadline and the growing percentage of renewable energy.
