Moncler launched the collection 1 Moncler JW Anderson

For Moncler Genius 2020, Jonathan Anderson subverts the canons of elegance, challenges established principles and gender boundaries through pure, architectural design.

The Northern Irish designer has reinterpreted a wide selection of iconic garments of his brand founded in 2008, JW Anderson, in a winter key by stuffing them and transforming them into unconventional down jackets.

The entire 1 Moncler JW Anderson collection is characterized by an ironic style and a non binary vision, in fact each item can be worn indiscriminately by men and women.

Zip-up blousons with padded zip-pullers, padded scarves, wide-brim hats and shorts are bright building blocks of looks that are all about color and shape, with sculptural motifs such as embossed dots and protruding spikes adding further three-dimensionality.

Monochrome block in red, light blue, yellow, pink, black, white and navy blue alternate in a game of colors and finishes.

To complete the collection we find trench coats and sweaters in military style with patch pockets, which perfectly match packable boots and quilted bags with oversized chains in padded fabric. In addition, to celebrate the collection Jonathan Anderson has created a project called Exhibition in a box, with images taken by photographer Tyler Mitchell, his longtime collaborator.
500 limited edition boxes designed to stimulate creativity and individual expression and to celebrate the debut of the collection.

Each box contains a personal message from the designer explaining the project: “I am happy to share with you the crowning achievement of my 1 MONCLER JW ANDERSON collection: “Exhibition in a box” is a piece to interact with at home, while the world still struggles to find new ways to spend time together. I hope that this initiative, with the incredible images of Tyler Mitchell, will be to your liking”.

Anderson and Mitchell have created an original exhibition that contains images from the collection taken last summer in the English countryside. The designer and the photographer both have a great interest in the art world and their collaboration has created an innovative and stimulating project.

Inside the boxes there is a padded folder containing prints of different sizes together with instructions and instructions on how to set up the work in your home. The nature of the box itself invites the recipient to play and interact with the collection, to touch it with their hand, letting themselves be guided by creativity.

1 MONCLER JW ANDERSON will be available from October 1st in Moncler boutiques, on moncler.com and selected wholesalers worldwide.
