Founded in Milan in 2017 by Antonio Buonsante and Federico Casati, casatibuonsante architects tackles architecture and design at different scales, from domestic landscape to urban dimension. The two young architects (1989 and 1988), both graduated at Politecnico di Milano, aim to develop a scientific work methodology, which is readable through shared parameters, and which overrides personal narrative speculations. They almost work in Milan and one of their latest work is the amazing renovation project of an apartment in XXII Marzo street with a “music room” made in 2018.

On this June 2019 Casatibuonsante design a special BBQ for a private house in Varese inspired by this Sol Lewitt’s words on Art in America Magazine, “The best that can be said for either the square or the cube is that they are relatively uninteresting in themselves. Being a basic representation of two – and three-dimensional forms and shapes. They are standard and universally recognized, no initiation being required of the viewer. It is immediately evident that a square is a square and the cube is a cube. Released from the necessity of being significant in themselves, they can be better used as grammatical devices from which the work may proceed. The use of a square or a cube obviates the necessity of inventing other forms and reserves their use for the invention”.

The space for kitchenware storage, a sink, a small wood oven, the grill, and a worktop are designed to trough the obsessive repetition of 25×12 cm rectangular Klinker tiles. All photographed by the Louis De Belle.
