Born in 1997, Darya Shnykina is an illustrator who, despite her young age, has managed to make a name for herself internationally. 

Darya was born in Moscow, where she began her art studies and where she specialized in graphics and book illustration. Her style and her way of enclosing in an image different sensations led her to win several competitions that allowed her to publish her works and to exhibit in galleries and art fairs. 

Today Darya Shnykina mostly makes illustrations for editorials, book covers like Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre and posters for films like Blade Runner or Last Christmas. 

But between commissioned works, Darya Shnykina also makes magnificent personal projects, such as the latest series of illustrations entitled “Places I’d love To Live In“. 

Taking inspiration from the book “Cabin” published by Taschen, which shows some of the best projects of eco-friendly mini houses and cabins, Darya Shnykina imagined some of them in remote places, lost in the mountains or in the middle of endless plains. 

As always, Darya has created all the illustrations digitally, but thanks to a technique developed over the years and an ability to be completely absorbed by what he is creating, the final result seems to be handmade with tempera and brushes. 

Looking at her work you will immediately feel a sense of calm and peace.
