Straddling the past and the future, the British artist Joe Simpson tries to offer us, with his latest series of digital collages, an antidote to the negativity that accompanies us in this period.
The series curated by the figurative painter, who currently lives and works in London, is entitled “SOME OF THESE DAYS”.
Joe Simpson’s work has been exhibited all over the world and he works primarily with oil paint to create realistic images.
“I wanted to create images that were an antidote to this gloomy perspective. An idea of the future, from a nostalgic perspective of the past, where it looked exotic and exciting – full of possibilities, where people looked happy.“
“SOME OF THESE DAYS” stems from the artist’s desire to imagine a better future. Not dystopian or apocalyptic as is often represented by most of his colleagues, but on the contrary full of hope.
