The moment is now near, missing just over ten days and The Lion King, The Return of the King will be released in cinemas around the world, or almost. The cartoon version was released in November 1994 and was one of the cornerstones of every child’s and, why not, even adult’s childhood.
After the official trailer and have compiled a list of all the soundtracks and their performers, we came back to show you this last video, in the style of the recap that was aired at the end of the homonymous VHS – the steps for the realization of the animations were summarized.
A two-and-a-half-minute cross-section includes interviews with director Jon Favreau, completely new footage – not featured in the official trailer – and Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner (Simba, Pumba, Timon) who sing the iconic “Hakuna Matata” soundtrack and enjoy recording the song in the studio.
Beyoncè also appears, playing Nala and singing with Childish “Can you feel the love tonight”. James Earl Jones and Chiwetel Ejiofor play Mufasa and Scar respectively.
Pharrell can also be glimpsed and we will have the exceptional participation of Elton John who wrote with Tim Rice the soundtracks to the notes of Hans Zimmer in the cartoon.
The official release is scheduled for July 19 in the US and for August 21 in Italy. We’re looking forward to it and you?
