The All Star weekend just passed and for the all basketball fans it’s a must.

For many people, myself included, it’s amazing and it make us in the mental condition to want to know everything about it.

So what better time to find out one of the last work of Bobbito Garcia (aka DJ Cucumber Slice aka Kool Bob Love) paired with the French director  Kevin Couliau: ‘Doin’ It In The Park’.

This documentary takes us into the bowels of New York’ street basketball, the city with 700 playgrounds and roughly 500,000 players.

Through the voice of the playground’s’ legends, NBA athletes and last but not least the everyday players, you can discover this movement that for many is more than just a game.

Bobbito & Kevin have to drive around about 180 playgrounds among the 5 Boroughs, carry all the equipment on their head and, of course, a ball in their backpacks to tell us this parallel reality.

“You can play high school or college for four years. You can play Pro for a decade. You can play pick-up … for life.”

You can buy the documentary here.

P.S.
If you love Latin jazz or Boogaloo I recommend you to listen to the excellent soundtrack by Eddie Palmieri, a damn genius.
