After the success of their first collaboration, Dr. Martens and MM6 Maison Margiela join forces once again to redefine the concept of hybridization. The new capsule collection reimagines two iconic silhouettes from the British brand – the 1460 boot and the 1461 shoe – filtered through MM6’s deconstructionist and irreverent lens.
The result is two all-white models that play with form and function: the first fuses the 8-eyelet 1460 boot with the 3-eyelet 1461 shoe, while the second blends the 1461 lace-up structure with the slip-on profile of the Penton loafer. Both reflect MM6’s minimal and conceptual aesthetic, with tone-on-tone finishes, Smooth and Virginia leather, invisible stitching, and a clever use of white-on-white that recalls the painted Dr. Martens seen on the SS25 runway.
The approach is quintessential Margiela: taking what’s familiar and distorting it into something new. The details make the difference, like the customized white AirWair heel loop and the embossed MM6 logo on the ankle. The idea is that of a “shoe within a shoe,” a conceptual double layer that transforms iconic objects into wearable design pieces.
The capsule will be available starting today, July 17, on the official websites of both brands, in selected flagship stores, and at multi-brand retailers.
