This summer, from August 20th to 27th, the Concorto Film Festival will be back with its 21st edition, confirming itself as one of the most important and historical short film festivals.
Hosted as always in Pontenure in the province of Piacenza, this historic event will transform the Emilian city into one of the world capitals of short films. For 8 days, the beautiful Parco Raggio in Pontenure will become an open-air cinema, where a rich program of screenings, but also talks, interviews, concerts, DJ sets, will celebrate the art of short film and the selected films.
The journey of the XXI edition of Concorto Film Festival, which will end in August, officially started yesterday, when the registrations to participate in the official selection of the festival were officially opened. Also yesterday, this year’s poster was unveiled, which for several editions has been entrusted entirely to a different artist. From 2014 to 2021, in fact, we have seen artwork made by names such as HITNES, Camilla Falsini, Nolan Pellettier and many others.
To take care of the artwork for the 2022 edition, Elisa Talentino, a young illustrator and graphic designer from Turin, was chosen. She has taken the image of the donkey, which echoes the logo of Concorto Film Festival, using it to take us back in time to our childhood.
A donkey that flies, this is the protagonist of the work of Elisa Talentino who commented on her work as follows: “was born from a childhood desire: to ride a magical animal, which is able to detach itself from the ground to lead us to enchanted universes. I chose to represent two kids, I imagined them as pre-adolescents, in that dilated age in which the dimension of play still permeates the days, but in which the first loves already appear. There is the subversion of the rules of reality, starting from the boy who chooses to ride the donkey backwards in order to lose himself in her gaze, to the almost unconscious flight of the animal, which is not part of the traditional iconography of the flying animal equipped with wings, but which detaches itself from the ground almost unconsciously, levitating. The donkey is then harnessed to party, to evoke the country festivals of southern Italy, where it is chosen by the two boys as a means enchanted for their journey that recalls the “fuitine” of the past.”
