Lucie Khahoutian is a visual artist whose work is perfectly poised between collage and photography, constituting a suitable language to express the duality of her vision of the world, which we find perfectly expressed in the project Finding an echo.

Childhood in a multicultural family has certainly marked Lucie’s artistic production, which proposes a visual compromise and a comparison between Armenian and French culture. The classic Armenian visual codes are in fact amalgamated within a general vision of purely European and Western nature.

With his work, the artist shows that not only is an encounter between East and West possible, but it is also stimulating. The anarchic flow of his visual choices finds its element of coherence in the practice of collage, the main characteristic of his artistic practice.

The wide range of topics covered in Finding an echo is freely interpretable, although they are very focused on religion, spirituality and mystical issues; it is no coincidence that Lucie escapes an overly intellectualized approach: she likes to work on the notion of absurdity.
