The 2020 edition of FOTONICA, the festival dedicated to Audio Visual Digital Arts and investigating art forms linked to the element of light, will start tomorrow, Friday 11 December.

In order to comply with all health regulations, for the first time, FOTONICA will become an exclusively online event, with live streaming on VJ Television’s Twitch channel and events in augmented reality that can be accessed through the Virtual Room created in collaboration with Arte19VVR.

For ten days, from 11 to 20 December, 24 hours a day, you will be able to attend all the scheduled events completely free of charge.

FOTONICA, which is part of Romarama, the cultural program promoted by Roma Capitale and realized in collaboration with SIAE, this year offers a program that will satisfy all tastes, from those who want to watch performances to those who want to discover all the secrets of this field by participating in talks and workshops dedicated to the world of audio-video and digital art.

Throughout the festival you will be able to see different installations, from the AV “Synchronator HD” by Bas Van Kolwijk, to the Videomapping show by Dark Light Studio, you will be able to visit the NetArt exhibition by Shockart.net and the AV Digital Archive by VJTelevision where the largest international archive dedicated to Audio Visual Performing Arts is available for consultation.

But that’s not all! Among the artists who will participate in FOTONICA 2020 we must mention the English band Coldcut, the Italian creative studio Ultravioletto, the Egyptian artist Noushka Farag, and of course there will be national and international partners who will curate various meetings in which different aspects of digital art will be analyzed, but also the current situation of this sector will be discussed.
