Yesterday Hiroshi Fujiwara posted on Instagram a photo of a sample of a pair of Nike Air Max 1 in collaboration with fragment design for the collection “The Ten”.

According to reports, Nike’s commission to create its own version of the “The Ten” series was entrusted to both the Japanese designer and Virgil Abloh, currently artistic director of the Louis Vuitton menswear line.
The choice for an ongoing collaboration of Beaverton’s brand fell on Virgil, while the proposal of the founder of the fragment was shelved.

Fujiwara’s desire to share, however, gave us all a chance to take a look at what could have been but wasn’t.

The pair of fragment design x Nike Air Max 1 “The Ten” that Hiroshi Fujiwara showed, are presented in a very elegant light gray suede combined with a total black sole, a mini swoosh on the side panel, the laces that draws the world of hikig while on the insole we find the co-branding with the typical lightning bolt of fragment design and the logo “The Ten”.
