The sea is a playground for Frédéric Agius

Frédéric Agius‘s is the story of a connection with photography born through contact with his first tool. Like many photographers, Agius began his approach to photography with an early and simple Canon, photographing the landscape around him, in particular the Mediterranean Sea in the South of France.
The artist began his career by trying to capture the moment of freedom of human figures underwater, so free from the weight of gravity as to seem immersed in an extraterrestrial landscape. The possibilities of creating ever different visions and viewpoints make Frédéric Agius describe the sea as a ‘playground‘.
There is a strange play of perspectives that this underworld brings out, the subjects remain suspended along large rock walls without ever falling, or join the seaweed and sand as if they were themselves part of the seabed.
