This year the realization of the Serpentine Pavillon, the annual summery pavillon that take place in London at Kensington Gardens, has been designing by Frida Escobedo.

Her project combines Mexico, her native country, and England. So, with this project, the Mexican domestic culture meets British materials and techniques. In fact, the exterior of her creation is formed by two rectangles made by roof tiles, but into it we can find a tradition Mexican residence. Light, passing through roof tiles, arrives in the middle of the pavillon where a canopy made by mirrors takes place, creating an amazing game of lights and shadows. This Frida’s work is inspired by the idea of Proun of Lissitsky and the way of understanding the space in fragments but also as a total.

The pavillon will open from June 15 to October 7.
