Aliens invade the city. The police escape from the monsters. The streets plummet into darkness due to a blackout. All this happens in a minute in the last animated short produced by Picnic Animation Studio, From Above.

It is a 360° video, an experiment of the London studio. The spectator’s point of view is in mid-air and follows some children on their bicycles, all around the chaos. You can hear the sirens of police cars wandering around the fields, the screams of inhabitants abandoning their homes invaded by extraterrestrials. If you look up you can also see the UFOs above your heads that capture with beams of light the humans.

A simple idea but developed brilliantly, taking full advantage of the possibilities of virtual reality.
