What can I say, the illustrations by South Korean artist Jee-ook Choi, are really hypnotic! Its colourful, lively and cryptic style makes it one of the most particular illustrator around. Playing with what characterizes everyday life, bright colours and exaggerated details merge, resulting in unusual at first glance.

If we were to look for an artistic reference, we would most likely immediately think of Escher: impossible perspective tangles subvert the natural order, to create a completely new one.

The dynamism and freshness of each scene earned her the cover of Peggy Gou’s album Once, released on March 2, 2018. Jee-ook has explained several times that she loves to recreate surreal moments within reality, as if they were epiphanies from the subconscious.
