The sixth edition of IKEA‘s Nytillverkad collection reinterprets iconic seating from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, along with customizable shelving, playful fabrics, and sinuous vases. The collection will be available in IKEA stores starting February 2025. Here’s what we know about this capsule collection, which features new seating, shelving, multifunctional tables, textiles, and accessories.

The collection introduces four new armchairs. Among them is MOFALLA by Niels Gammelgaard, made with steel tubing and inspired by the COX armchair from 1978. The DYVLINGE by Gill Lundgren reimagines the MILA from 1967 in bright orange. The SOTENÄS reinterprets the PUCK from 1969 in a vibrant red. The BYAKORRE shelving unit is a revamped version of the GUIDE, also by Niels Gammelgaard, from 1985. This colorful open unit features reversible white and anthracite gray shelves, with edge details in various colors (blue, green, yellow, red, or white). «I love the idea of being able to change a home’s atmosphere through design,» says Gammelgaard.

The GUTTANE tables — a reworking of the NOVETTE benches designed by Erik Wørts in 1963 — feature solid oak legs and oak veneer tops. Functional and elegant, they also include a shelf to prevent objects from accidentally falling.

The ÄNGSVITVINGE bedding set features a cloud-inspired motif with blue clouds on a white background, echoing Sven Fristedt‘s design from 1973. Meanwhile, Anna Efverlund presents KLIPPBRÄCKA, a reinterpretation of the MODIG KORN popcorn pattern from 1997, now in black and white. The KÄLLARHALS vases, a modern take on the SNURRA from 1995, come in transparent lacquered versions in yellow and orange.

Between Past and Future

With the sixth edition of the Nytillverkad collection, IKEA celebrates vintage design reimagined for modern needs. “Just one piece from this collection is enough to make a difference,” says Karin Gustavsson, the creative lead for the collection. «We drew inspiration from four decades, reinventing the pieces with a bold color palette and soft accents to bring joy to everyday life».
