For an illustrator, the easiest way to answer questions in an interview, perhaps, is through his art. That’s exactly what we asked Kanjano, to answer the five questions of our Illustrated Interview with as many illustrations created ad hoc.
Many of you may have heard of him before, but for those who don’t know who we’re talking about, here’s a small summary.
Kanjano, the stage name of Giuliano Cangiano, was born in Catania in 1980 and is one of the most brilliant Italian contemporary cartoonists and illustrators. His works, colorful, nice and immediate, have adapted perfectly to different genres, from children’s books to newspapers and satirical newspapers such as L’Erroneo, Paparazzin, Il Male and L’Antitempo.
He is a true graphic novelist who uses images to talk about current affairs as he demonstrated by publishing with his friend Carlo Giubitosa La mia terra la difendo and Ilva. Comizi d’acciaio and as he continues to do every day on Instagram.
Let yourself be fascinated by his illustrated answers made for us at Collater.al:
How would you illustrate yourself?

What kind of tools do you use to create your artworks?

Where would you like to be in this moment?

What did you never illustrate that you would like to illustrate?

Of what could you never live without?
