Today’s news is that Opera, the new permanent public art installation created by Edoardo Tresoldi on the Falcomatà waterfront in Reggio Calabria, will be inaugurated on the weekend of 12 and 13 September with a series of free events of music, performances, and poetry.
Tresoldi’s installation will meet the sound installation of the musician and composer Teho Teardo, who, in order to narrate the contemplative relationship between the place and the human being, has created a sound design that is divided into three different moments of the day, morning, sunset and night.
Other protagonists of the opening weekend will be the poems of poet and writer Franco Arminio, the poems of Lara Chiellino, the performance of Daniel Cundari with Jo Di Nardo and Francesco Speciale, the live performances of Guido Maria Grillo with Francesco Loccisano and Fabio Macagnino and the live performances of Livio and Manfredi.
The installation, as we have already told you in a previous article, is composed of a colonnade of 46 wire mesh columns that reach a height of 8 meters, which, thanks to a play of heights and depths with the surrounding park, transport the visitor into a changing perceptive dimension.
