Spanish artist Okuda San Miguel has just finished his latest work, an intervention that is unique to the Spanish coast.
Infinite Cantabria, this is the name he chose for the project commissioned by the Santander Port Authority and the Municipality of Bareyo, is another 16-meter lighthouse that he has completely transformed and renovated thanks to the use of more than 70 colors.

The work, which the artist has declared to be a challenge, an honor, and an important milestone in his already prolific career, is a tribute to the natural richness of Cantabria, to the colors and textures typical of its fauna, and to its cultural diversity characterized by great openness and modernity towards the world.

The Ajo lighthouse, which registered more than 10,000 visitors during the opening weekend, has also maintained its original function of assisting ships as a maritime signal, as well as being a symbol of a new light in this uncertain and difficult to understand future.

The work is part of the dialogue that the artist has been pursuing for years between the more traditional approach to art in public spaces and the renewed and more innovative vision that he promotes.
