The street artist duo Jessie and Katey recently completed a pavement that covers the entire surface of a staircase in the center of the Appalachian State University campus in North Carolina.
Jessie Unterhalter and Katey Truhn have been working side by side since 2011 and, since the beginning of their collaboration, have specialized in the creation of large-sized murals that not only cover walls and walls, but also floors, streets or stairways.

The artwork for the Appalachian State University has all the characteristics that have led Jessie and Katey to be known worldwide: an intricate design consisting of colorful geometric shapes with brilliant tones develops throughout the entire staircase as if it were a carpet. The final result cannot fail to recall the fabrics and quilts typical of the Appalachian region.
As with every work signed by the duo, the most interesting aspect was seeing the students’ reactions and how the artwork became part of the campus landscape.
