A few weeks ago, talking about GONE, the new KAWS vinyl Companion, we mentioned the exhibition “KAWS: Companionship In The Age Of Loneliness“, dedicated to Brian Donnelly‘s pop creations. 

The exposition will be hosted by the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne and will be open to the public from 20 September 2019 to 13 April 2020. 

KAWS: Companionship In The Age Of Loneliness will address 4 different themes: “Public Interventions,” “Iconography,” “Order And Chaos,” and “Companionship”. In addition, an area has been created entirely dedicated to children and to stimulate their creativity and the exhibition ends with a shop where you can buy the famous statuettes, but also t-shirts and other items not to be missed. 

Since KAWS animated the streets of New York it has had a unique impact on the public, then, succeeding in the difficult transition from the street to the galleries has reached not only lovers of street art, but art lovers in general. Today the name KAWS is inextricably linked to the figure of the companion who, always remaining himself, has had the strength to adapt to different contexts and environments.
