The new glue-free shoe by KEEN

Two cords, one sole and no trace of adhesives: KEEN has pushed beyond the limits of footwear design with UNEEK 360, a shoe that is not just a new model, but an attempt to rewrite the rules of production. Starting from its iconic open-air structure, the American brand evolves the concept in an even more radical direction, completely eliminating glue and, with it, the chemical solvents that have always been part of shoe construction.

The shoe’s silhouette remains faithful to the UNEEK aesthetic, while introducing a modular approach: the structure is held together exclusively by cords, turning each component into an independent element that can be disassembled and rethought at the end of its life. It is not just a technical choice, but a statement in terms of sustainability, in line with Detox the Planet, the initiative through which KEEN has been working for years to reduce the environmental impact of its footwear.

UNEEK 360 thus becomes the brand’s first completely solvent-free shoe, a far from obvious step considering how central adhesives are to traditional production processes. Here, instead, the construction relies on a system of articulated cords that move along multiple axes, adapting to the foot and creating a dynamic, almost organic fit.

There is also a clear focus on everyday comfort, with an odor-control system based on natural probiotics and free from harmful antimicrobials. A detail that, together with the glue-free construction, clearly reflects the direction KEEN has taken: less chemistry, more engineering.

UNEEK 360 is not just the evolution of an already iconic model, but a successful experiment that brings together design, performance and environmental responsibility. A shoe that shows how innovation today means, above all, subtraction: unnecessary materials, polluting processes and compromises that no longer belong to our time.
