We have been waiting anxiously since it was announced and now we can finally watch the first official trailer for “Luca“, the next Disney Pixar film out on June 18th. 

The feature film, the 24th from the American production company, comes after “Soul” which, despite the closure of the cinemas, was a great success, both with the public on Disney+ and with the critics. 

“Luca” is the first Disney Pixar film directed by an Italian, Enrico Casarosa, and set in Italy. In fact, for the film, the Genoa-born director took inspiration from his childhood, deciding to bring to the big screen a typical Italian summer spent among the characteristic villages of the Ligurian Riviera. 

“A young boy experiences an unforgettable seaside summer on the Italian Riviera filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: he is a sea monster from another world just below the ocean’s surface“, this is the official synopsis released. 

Maybe it’s the shop signs that read “focacceria” or “latteria”, maybe it’s the caruggi that lead to the sea, maybe it’s Enrico Casarosa’s amazing career, but we are already in love with “Luca” and can’t wait to see it.
