The aspect that fascinates me most about photography is that it allows us to look at the world from a different point of view, with someone else’s eyes. Today we want you to see the world through the eyes of Mattia Tonarelli, a young Italian photographer who captured my attention right from the start. 

Mattia started with fashion photography, a field that allowed him to specialize in portraits. His Instagram profile, in fact, is full of faces, especially female faces, where the focus is all about expression, eyes, and the light that hits the features creating a play of light and shadow that hides and reveals at the same time. 

It is his passion for the light that remains intact even in a genre that is completely opposite to portraits and that has led Mattia Tonarelli to create a new profile, entirely dedicated to his shots on film. 

It is a collection of everyday moments, moments that would go unnoticed if there were no one to immortalize them forever. Made on the pier of his city, on the beach, in the square, Mattia’s photographs tell an entire reality made even more interesting and unique by the choice to use analogic combined with black and white. 

You may feel like taking a step back in time, like when you dust off old family photos, but it is simply the everyday world seen from different eyes.
