A Mediterranean summer: the shots by Arturo Bamboo

A Mediterranean summer: the shots by Arturo Bamboo

Giulia Guido · 2 years ago · Photography

The warm rays of the sun, the sign of a tan, the crowded beaches, the salt that dries on the skin, the always wet hair, the sunsets over the sea, the summer houses. The one told in Arturo Bamboo‘s photographs is the perfect summer.

Arturo Bamboo is the stage name chosen by the Dutch duo formed by Arthur Groeneveld and Bamboo van Kampen, partners in work and life. After having already talked about their project “Privè“, what we want to bring to your attention is their first work, realized some years ago during a summer spent in some of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean.

In a moment like the one we are living, in which, while temperatures warn us that the summer season has already begun, commitments, work and economic situation remind many that this year’s summer will not be like the others, the shots of the photographic series Summer Diary arrive with the strength and delicacy of the breeze that refreshes the August evenings.

What Arturo Bamboo offers us is a journey that goes from Formentera to Greece, passing through southern Italy and that thanks to the use of an analogical camera seems like the distant memory of a teenage summer.

There is no room for problems, the warm natural light envelops everything sweeping away negative thoughts and the only thing we would like is to feel that freedom we see in the shots.

Bodies and technology in the photographs by Pavel Demidovich

Bodies and technology in the photographs by Pavel Demidovich

Giulia Guido · 2 weeks ago · Photography

Many times we have seen photographic projects in which the human body merged with nature. The connection between nature and man, after all, has always been one of the central themes in the history of art and photography.
Today, however, nature has been replaced by another element that has become the protagonist of our days: technology.
This new link is at the centre of Pavel Demidovich‘s latest series of shots.

The photographer from Minsk shoots exclusively on film and has portrayed the relationship between the human body and technology by immortalising two nude models on whose covers strings of codes have been projected that are hidden behind every single social network or website we consult every day.
The end result is almost like a science fiction film, a sort of intimacy of the future.

Humans and Landscapes, Ekayyne’s project blends nature and the human body.

Humans and Landscapes, Ekayyne’s project blends nature and the human body.

Giulia Guido · 2 weeks ago · Photography

Brussels-based artist and graphic designer Ekayyne uses his Instagram profile as a stage to show the works that make up the Humans and Landscapes project. As you can imagine from the title, the artist’s graphics blend in an original way landscape, from white and endless beaches to flowering meadows, and body parts.

The process of creation begins with the phase of searching for images that take place on the Internet, especially on Tumbler. Only once this first part has been completed does one move on to assembling the images, looking for common elements such as lines or textures.

The peculiarity of Ekayyne’s graphics is that the union of the two images is not hidden, on the contrary, it is often made even more evident by the contrast between shapes and colors.

In any case, the result is always surprising, in which the lines of the sand dunes become those of a woman’s body, the skin turns into sand and a nightdress turns into frothy waves of the sea.

Why aren’t you here tonight?

Why aren’t you here tonight?

Tommaso Berra · 1 week ago · Photography

Impossible to fall asleep, the thought of the other night is pushing in, gripping my stomach with five fingers.
I just wanted to fuck him and now I’m already addicted to the power with which he held my neck. I can still feel the contact between his warm chest and my shivering back, I miss him a little.
There have been nights of which I have confused memories, lost among a thousand useless details, but now I have a clear idea of what I have been denied in this room paved with parquet and adorned with a few plants. I try to fill the lacks, making my body remember gentle gestures, gentle because they seek my lifeblood, they reach up to see the violence of my thoughts.

Paulina Masenina‘s photos are the story, illustrated and written, of an unfulfilled sexual desire. An erotic and desperate journey of a need for mental and physical contact. The bed is still empty, the room desolate, in the head considerations of a night gone wrong: “How many orgasm missed?“, “I can’t breathe thinking of us not fucking in this bed“.
