The warm rays of the sun, the sign of a tan, the crowded beaches, the salt that dries on the skin, the always wet hair, the sunsets over the sea, the summer houses. The one told in Arturo Bamboo‘s photographs is the perfect summer.
Arturo Bamboo is the stage name chosen by the Dutch duo formed by Arthur Groeneveld and Bamboo van Kampen, partners in work and life. After having already talked about their project “Privè“, what we want to bring to your attention is their first work, realized some years ago during a summer spent in some of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean.

In a moment like the one we are living, in which, while temperatures warn us that the summer season has already begun, commitments, work and economic situation remind many that this year’s summer will not be like the others, the shots of the photographic series Summer Diary arrive with the strength and delicacy of the breeze that refreshes the August evenings.
What Arturo Bamboo offers us is a journey that goes from Formentera to Greece, passing through southern Italy and that thanks to the use of an analogical camera seems like the distant memory of a teenage summer.
There is no room for problems, the warm natural light envelops everything sweeping away negative thoughts and the only thing we would like is to feel that freedom we see in the shots.
