Arthur Groeneveld and Bamboo Van Kampen are a Dutch couple, in art and life. Their photography revolves around different themes such as intimacy, distant places and the concept of feminine and masculine. The Privè project is a fanzine that presents monochromatic photos, in large format. The project goes beyond their first book, showing sensual, vulnerable and even more intimate visions that allow the viewer to deepen their relationship. How the couple declares:

“What sets this series of images apart is the fact we’re together and both function as photographer as well as subject – in this way every shot has a very personal view from either Arthur’s or Bamboo’s perspective. Also the fact that nude imagery, in general, does not bother about fashion, time and place stimulated us to create a timeless piece. The photos are untouched and show everything reality offers: imperfections, light, pleasure, tension, lack of focus and darkness”.

Some images are more hermetic than others, their format and film helps to make the story more intimate and authentic. Find the photos of the project below in our gallery, for everything else you can visit their site.

Water flow, Mònica Figueras’ photographic series

Water flow, Mònica Figueras’ photographic series

Claudia Fuggetti · 1 year ago · Photography

Water flow is the photographic series by Mònica Figueras, a Barcelona-based artist, conceived as a summer diary. The shots are marked by female protagonists and the vision that emerges is, therefore, all female. The photographic style is fresh and conveys lightheartedness the desire to live new adventures without thinking about tomorrow.

Cigarettes, ice lollies, swimming pools and above the sea, because the artist is very tied to his homeland, Costa Brava. She describes her style as follows:

“El mar, sus reflejos a la luz del sol y esa belleza de lo simple y de lo cotidiano. Una belleza que quizás no se ve a primera vista pero que siempre ha estado ahí. Me gusta destacarlo porque en mi obra se percibe siempre una clara influencia de mis orígenes”.

If you want to feel the sun’s rays on your body, look at other works of Mònica on your site.

Good Luck With The Future, Dani Pujalte’s view

Good Luck With The Future, Dani Pujalte’s view

Claudia Fuggetti · 1 year ago · Photography

Is it possible to describe anxiety about the future of an entire generation? Can one change his destiny? Photographer from Barcelona, Dani Pujalte, with his project Good Luck With The Future, tries to represent the emotional journey experienced by many people.

Dani graduated in law in 2008, but instead of pursuing his profession, he decided to dedicate himself to photography. The period in which he completed his university studies coincided with the Spanish economic crisis, which had left the country in a situation called “Great Spanish Depression”. Precisely during this period, the photographer began to experiment with his style of documentary style, mainly focused on cultural and social issues, as he himself is keen to point out:

“It’s about being awake to the things happening around you and then trying to catch things, forms, people or colors”.

Good Luck With The Future concerns all of us and, “what could be, and what will be, although we do not know yet”, looking for an answer, a hope, and a change.

Search for your answer or just look at the ones that tried to give Dani.

Butterfly Wings, Chris Perani’s macro photography

Butterfly Wings, Chris Perani’s macro photography

Giulia Guido · 1 year ago · Photography

Personally, the photographs I like the most are those that show distant lands and places, panoramas that are not part of my everyday life, faces that reflect distant cultures and ethnic groups, but Chris Perani‘s macro photographs have managed to make me change my mind. The shots from his Butterfly Wings series capture microscopic details of dozens of different butterflies.

Thanks to macro photography Chris can show us the thousands of shades, hairs, and scales that hide on the wings, or rather, that we can not see with the naked eye.

The extraordinary result perfectly reflects a work that requires a long preparation and that makes the most of the possibilities offered by the camera.

Butterfly Wings is just one of the fantastic series created by Chris Perani, to see them go on his website or on his Instagram profile.

Margins Of Excess, America seen by Max Pinckers

Margins Of Excess, America seen by Max Pinckers

Claudia Fuggetti · 1 year ago · Photography

Belgian photographer Max Pinckers in his new documentary project “Margins Of Excess” presents a series of photographs in which the truth does not always correspond to reality. The work tells the lives of six individuals who became famous and known to the American press, for various disconcerting circumstances.

Among the characters, we find Rachel Dolezal, who pretended to be an African-American woman to take advantage of economic benefits and Herman Rosenblat who invented having survived the Holocaust, with a touching love affair with a girl met on opposite sides of the enclosure of the concentration camp.

What the protagonists of the book Pinckers share are an undeniable talent for the art of deception and a passion for the subversion of the “truth”. Pinckers has been fascinated by these characters, making them the favorite subjects of his photo book, is the truth really what we hear? The photographer states that:

“A more intricate view of our world, which takes into account the subjective and fictitious nature of the categories”.

In an era where truth is apparently a flexible commodity, the book aims to “pierce through the noise, buzz, pulp, lies, dreams, paranoia, cynicism and laziness and to embrace ‘reality’ in all its complexity”.
