mfpen teams up with the iconic American brand Schott NYC for a new take on the historic CWU Bomber Jacket. The result stays true to the original aesthetic, focusing on precise interventions rather than a radical transformation. The collaboration is presented through a campaign that sits between biker aesthetics and balletcore, highlighting the hybrid character of the jacket.

Offered in black and navy blue, the jacket replaces the classic one-way zipper with a double-slider Riri zipper, adding flexibility and a slightly deconstructed touch. Details such as the hook-and-bar collar closure, metal rivets, and mfpen’s tailoring label on the sleeve introduce a more contemporary elegance that contrasts with the garment’s military origins, making it more versatile beyond its traditional context.

In line with mfpen’s responsible approach, the collaboration is built from leftover Schott jackets, updated with subtle hardware adjustments. It’s a way to preserve the CWU’s robust heritage while adding a more restrained and functional Nordic sensibility that perfectly reflects the Danish brand’s DNA.
For the launch, mfpen created a video together with filmmaker Isak Berglund Mattsson-Mårn, featuring dancers from the Royal Danish Ballet and a soundtrack composed by pianist August Rosenbaum. The result plays with the contrast between softness and tension — a way to highlight the bomber’s intrinsic duality: technical and structured, yet surprisingly fluid in motion.
