Micheal Northrup is a name that, for over forty years, has conveyed an ironic, erotic, and surreal vision of everyday life. The American photographer was the protagonist of the seventh issue of Bad Seed Zine, an independent magazine published by King Koala Press under the artistic direction of Luca Loreti and curated by Marcel Swann and Luca Matarazzo. The project, which began in the United States, now finds a new editorial form right here in Italy, closing a circle between origin and destination, between visual roots and new interpretations.

Micheal Northrup’s photography is a personal language, an intimate diary dotted with images that oscillate between the exotic and the irreverent, between dark humor and domestic aesthetics. “I love irony,” Northrup writes in his Instagram bio, showing and then explaining how his family has always managed to find humor even in the most tragic moments.
