Milan Fashion Week: all the installations that invaded the fashion shows

Milan Fashion Week has just ended and we have seen the brands present their new Fall/Winter 2019 collections. But in addition to being amazed by the beauty of the new garments, we were also impressed by the particularity of the locations, sets, and installations that accompanied this Milanese fashion week. We selected our favorites.

Bally

The Swiss company specializing in bags and accessories has presented its new Peak Outlook collection, paying homage to its country of origin. The Bally showroom has been perfectly set up to recreate a classic and very clean Swiss railway station, one of those with a single track and lost in some characteristic village. What better location to present a perfect collection to show off in the mountains?

United Colors of Benetton

From the mountain to the tailor’s shop! Benetton presented the collection with a real performance: behind the models, in fact, was set up a real tailoring. The aim was to show the potential and results that can be achieved when combining the work of machines with that of man.

MM6 Maison Margiela

The new collection by Margiela was presented in the store in Via della Spiga, which for the occasion was literally padded with white down jackets, as well as almost all the items on display. The cloud effect was fully achieved!

Antonio Marras

This time we see fashion merging with art, but also with theatre. Antonio Marras‘ fashion show was much more than just a fashion show, it was a real staging, with a narrative and a set design from the thirties. The icing on the cake was the final toast. So, cheers!

Versace

Versace wanted to pay tribute to one of its historic accessories, the golden pin from the 1994 Spring/Summer collection, and this time it certainly did not go unnoticed. In fact, a gigantic copy was made of it and it was placed exactly at the center of the catwalk. They say that passing under a ladder is bad luck but under the Versace pin?

Moschino

Moschino takes us on a special journey, in a classic American TV quiz from the 50s, between washing machines, massage chairs, luxury convertibles. The cotton wool and bright colors are not to be missed. It’s all very excessive, it’s all very Moschino.

Moncler Genius

One house, different voices. The collections contained in the Moncler Genius project could not have had a better slogan. The different collections (designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli & Liya Kebede, Sergio Zambon and Veronica Leoni for 2 Moncler 1952, Sandro Mandrino for 3 Moncler Grenoble, Simone Rocha, Craig Green, Matthew Williams of 1017 ALYX 9SM, Richard Quinn, Fragment by Hiroshi Fujiwara, Palm Angels by Francesco Ragazzi and Poldo Dog Couture) each had a different stage, always within the spaces offered by the Magazzini Raccordati. To describe them all we would need much more space, so we decided to make the images speak.

The DoubleJ

We close with the young brand La DoubleJ, founded in 2015 by Jennifer Jane Martin, an American journalist who decided to give life to this new project in Milan. It is one of the symbols of the city that hosted the presentation of the new collection. The models paraded to the rhythm of music under the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
