Snop’s Love Letter to Australia

Some stories take shape through images, journeys that are better told through the grain of film rather than words. For Miquel Àngel Pons, known as Snop, photography has become the perfect medium to capture the beauty of everyday moments and discoveries along the way. Born in Menorca and driven by a growing passion for the lens, Snop created A Love Letter to Australia, a photography project that embodies the freedom, beauty, and spontaneity of life on the road.

Australia Through the Eyes of Miquel Àngel Pons

Shot entirely in Australia with his first analog camera, a Canon AE-1, this series marks a deeply personal chapter in his artistic journey. The decision to purchase that camera proved to be a pivotal moment: it was through its viewfinder that Snop discovered a new perspective on reality, a fresh way of observing and capturing the world.

Living and traveling in a van along Australia’s endless coastlines, he developed a profound connection with photography, turning each shot into a fragment of memory and a celebration of the beauty hidden in the ordinary. The analog aesthetic—with its imperfections, uneven exposures, and delicate color variations—gives the images an unmistakable emotional depth, making them timeless and incredibly intimate.

A Love Letter to Australia is more than just a collection of photographs; it is a visual testament to gratitude and wonder. Each image encapsulates the sense of discovery and the joy of having found such a deep passion, transforming a journey into an indelible experience imprinted on film. With this series, Snop invites us to slow down, to observe the world with fresh eyes, and to rediscover the poetry hidden in the small things.
