Some places, without the human presence, can acquire a particular beauty. I don’t say that for misanthropy or for other reasons, but because it’s not part of today’s society to enjoy some places, things or people, we’re rather quite similar to the white rabbit from the famous tale of Alice.
There are some places in the world where we should have more time to spend inside it. An example? The underground stations of Moscow and St. Petersburg.
If you can’t visit them personally, the Canadian photographer David Burdeny let us do it through his photographic series – A Bright Future – that captures them in all its ancient shine.
They were built in 1935, during Stalin’s regime, that paid for their great construction. They seem like pieces of royal palaces with beautifully decorated ceilings, decorated with marbles and chandeliers, with golden details and so much more.
We need to say that, a journey in these stations could seem like an experience from a Disney movie.
