For some time now, Nike has been focusing its efforts on sustainability with the Move to Zero project, with the aim of completely reducing carbon emissions and waste production without ever straying from what the Beaverton-based company’s mainstays are: style, performance and functionality.

Nike ACG’s Holiday 2020 collection was designed and created precisely in this direction, in fact 85% of this season’s collection contains more than 90% recycled material. The aim is not to create something new, but to respect the environment in which we live, be more aware of it, protect it and celebrate its beauty.

Inspired by Smith Rock – a volcanic structure located in central Oregon just a few kilometers from Nike’s headquarters – all items in the AGC 2020 collection are named after the paths that branch out into the natural park and the nuances of the rocks were inspired by the textures and graphics.

“That balance between performance and sustainability is key to Nike ACG,” says Nur Abbas, Nike Design Director, ACG Apparel. “Sustainability was our first filter for materials used in this collection, but we didn’t compromise the identity of ACG style and attitude; wearers can continue to be protected from the elements when exploring awe-inspiring nature, or even wear the apparel beyond a weekend in the outdoors”.

Among the items of the collection stands out the breathable waterproof and windproof Nike ACG Misery Ridge GORE-TEX jacket characterized by the three-layer GORE-TEX fabric made of 100% recycled polyester, both inside and outside; the Nike ACG Rope De Dope Jacket – an insulating and foldable puffer – and the Nike ACG Polartec Wolf Tree Hoodie – a fleece made of 100% recycled materials.

The collection dedicated to women also includes Nike Women’s ACG Rope De Dope Vest, a Nike ACG Polartec Wolf Tree Crew and a Pant.
To complete the collection there are also two outdoor sneakers: a new Nike ACG Mountain Fly GORE-TEX and a new winter colorway from Nike ACG Air Nasu GORE-TEX.

The entire Nike ACG Holiday 2020 apparel collection will be available from November 12th on nike.com while the two sneakers will be released, again on the 12th, on SNKRS.
