Non - is the poetic short film made by the filmmaker Jack Birtle, in collaboration with the choreographer Cassandra Kowitz, find out more about the project here.

Australian filmmaker Jack Birtles collaborated with the choreographer Cassandra Kowitz to create Non -, a poetic short film that uses the movement and communicability of the body in relation to space as a metaphor for the struggle to be stable and present in an increasingly frenetic world. Dreamy music, inner stillness and a great sense of calm are some of the elements present in the video, which in reality aims at the ambitious goal of referring to the common thought that we must “assume a fixed, daring and worn identity. “.

The mesmerizing and fluid movements of Kowitz stand out against the mirrored surface of a lake in the Australian savannah and are visually striking. The duo tells:

“Through this work the body, heightened through dramatic symmetry and colour, speaks not only to connect with but create gestural imprints”.

The power of the video is clear and transports the viewer into a suspended dimension, where a kind of nirvana is waiting for him. Is it possible to assume a fixed identity in an increasingly fluid, massified and destabilizing society for the individual?

What if the answer is art? Take a look at the video below.
