Appareil Architecture studio revolutionized the creative district of Mile End, in Montreal, where an empty building was transformed into a workshop of artists, the “Pastel Rita Cafe”. Each space of the structure is organized in several areas differentiated by different colors in pastel tones and includes a café and a bar, an artists’ workshop and a boutique, which displays their creations. The study stated that:
Space has been conceived in realizing the needs and the personality of its users, as well as satisfying the commercial intent. The pastel colors blend perfectly with the cultural context and the atmosphere of the quarter, pale pink aims to create an intimacy in the sitting area, dark green defines the coffee area, generating a contrast that gives personality. Finally, the gold color, which enhances the environment, making it a little bit too.
