“Pila”, the work of Alberonero for the city of Rieti

Alberonero’s works arise from an intimate dialogue with space, from a conception of art as a founding element of the landscape, in poetic terms.

“Pila” his latest work is a striking example of the Italian designer’s conception of art.
The installation dialogues, so to speak, with the splendid architecture of the Italian city.
On the one hand with the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and contemporary architecture, on the other with the Vignola Garden and the two main squares of the city, Piazza Cesare Battisti and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele.
Enjoying the unique privilege of overlooking the roofs of the ancient Rieti and the wonderful panorama that every day tells and summarizes the relationship between the historical-artistic heritage and the naturalistic heritage that institutions and citizens are committed to preserving and that still strongly influences the culture of the place.

The work was created for TraMe-Tracce di Memoria, a cultural project of the agency The Uncommon Factory, curated by Annalisa Ferraro, supported by the Lazio Region and ERDF Funds, which for a year and a half has helped to culturally animate the city of Rieti.

The work is therefore an invitation to reflection and contemplation of the history and landscape of Rieti. The area chosen for the installation of “Pila” is an area frequented by citizens. A place of passage, but also a place where you can have fun and stop to relax.

A solid and stable work that evokes the strong spirituality that pervades the city of Rieti. Recalling its special connection with the path of Francis, the land in which the Saint consolidated his faith.
